In particular ifixit has been setting up guides for medical equipment like ventilators.

Perhaps in lieu of volunteering at a public Repair Café, volunteers can support their local medical community.

People may simply need some pointers and tips. This could be a forum. I think any local group could set up a forum. The advantage being that the group members know where their expertise lies. (We are in Machynlleth Wales.)
